Ok, so I asked the specialist today am i going to have to take a thyroid pill for the rest of my life and he said most likely. This is the second visit with him and he says the pills made my high thyroid level go down and now he upped my dosage. Well I asked him should I get a primary care doctor and he said "all you need is an obgyn." Well, he is a specialist and its very expensive to go there when I havent met my deductible with my insurance.
Since I know that i am going to be on a thyroid pill the rest of my life, should I get a primary care doctor so my levels can get checked there? Or should I just continue to see this specialist? He is also a diabetes doctor and put me on sugar pills. I thought I was just going to him for my thyroid.
