FTL = "For the loss" or "for the lose"

I saw this argument on another message forum and a lot of people were saying it's "for the lose."

I always thought it was for the loss...so I figured I might ask here since you guys seem to be up on your internet slang.

It is. why on earth would it mean loose.

how does saying"for the loose" make any since at all?
