last week i had to change my exhaust mannifold and durring break down of the engine asa i removed the fuel rail 3 injectors came off of the rail so i reinstaled the injectors back into the rail and when the job was finished and every thing was back to geather i have absolutly no visible fuel leaks so i was wondering when those 3 injectors came off the rail could it be that my injector o-rings could be shot this is what i have concluded so i bought a set of rings to install and i just want your oppinion on this and if you think i am right thank you

i think it could have been the injectors o-ring.. i had a similar problem. i have a 1997 ford expedition and i did some work on the intake manifold and when i pulled the fuel rail the injectors came out whith it but i didnt noticed that i damaged one of the o-ring from one of the injectors. and when i put everything back i kept smelling fuel inside the car but i didnt notice any leaks...well i decided to check out the injectors and sure it was there was a damaged o ring, i replaced all of the rings anyway they are not expensive. that fixed the problem.... good luck to u

if the rings are shot you would have a fuel leak because fuel injection works under high pressure.

install the o-rings on all of them and recheck after starting. should fix the problem! might check the fuel line to tank as well if gas smell still occurs! better to be safe than blown up!
