I was visiting with my son yesterday when FDIL and her mom came in from a shopping trip. I said hello and asked if they had been shopping for wedding items. FDIL reluctantly said yes and I asked what they had bought. Again, FDIL reluctantly said she got her veil. I was really excited and asked if I could see it. FDIL said no, that she didn't want to mess up the veil by opening the box and that I could see the veil along "with everyone else" on the day of the wedding. I was very hurt by this. To top it off, a few weeks ago, she and her mom have been attending cake and meal tastings for the wedding. I mentioned to my son that I would love to go-as I don't feel comfortable talking to FDIL directly-and he told me that FDIL said tastings were something she just wanted to do with her mom. Am I right to be hurt?
