Yes it can be spread by droplets from someones mucus. Droplets can be spread in a three feet Radius from the infected person. Most stomach bugs are spread from contact by infected person or infected surfaces though. You can catch a respiratory bug more commonly from droplets. Rule of thumb to avoid all bugs, wash your hands before touching anything going near your face, mouth or nose.
