For my last film in film school I wanted to do a western adaptation of Gawain and the Green Knight.
For those not familiar with the story here isa summary http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/gawain/summary.html
Do you think it could translate well? Obviously I would replace knights with cowboys, Arthur would probably be a sheriff but I wouldn't focus on that aspect to much. I would keep the main story but change smaller details so it fit the western theme more. Are there any aspects that are key to the story that would not work with a western setting and theme?
Also what do you think of the idea in general?
