GCSE Art Exam_Pop Art_?

i've chosen to do the starting point on pop art food. I've got an idea, but i'm just wondering whether doing pop art would give me the chance to really reach those higher grades as it is so simple and slightly primitive. If i do enough prep work and show off my skills which i couldn't in the final piece, would i get the credit for it?
