I have a paper due soon for my global animated films class. We need to choose an Asian animation - from any Asian country, but preferably of the anime genre, and analyze a key scene for dramatic effect, meaning, etc.
So, my problem is that I can't decide upon what animation to use, since I am aware, and have seen, a great deal in the past few years.
I've narrowed my choices down considerably, to animations that I'm familiar with, are pretty prolific, and will include at least one scene appropriate for analysis.
Spirited Away
Cowboy Bebop
Elfen Lied
Tokyo Godfathers
Also, these are two animations that I have yet to see, but seem interesting enough to view and research further:
Kurozuka
Tekkonkinkreet
Any advice, or suggestions of other animations would be greatly appreciated! Although, I cannot do a paper on Akira, Grave of the Fireflies, Howl's Moving Castle, or Ghost in the Shell, as we've already viewed them in class.
Thanks!!
Oh, and please, nothing like an Inuyasha or Bleach movie - like an extended anime episode, please. I'm not a fan of "adult swim" anime at all.
