Going hiking/camping and have an embarassing question?

My parents don't take me or my sister camping. Finally one of my sister's friends is going and so we're both joining her. Its really in the wilderness too. Like a mountain nature park.

So I have an embarrasing question that I can't really ask them!

How do you find a spot to go pee? What's a good spot vs. a bad spot?

do you take t.p. in your backpack? And after you wipe would you just drop it (since there's no garbagecans) ??

I would go behind a tree or bush somewhere where they cant see you, and yea if nobody else is bringing tp i would, just drop the tp there lol

Anywhere that is private. Just be sure you don't do it in poison ivy. Bring t.p. and a huge baggy for it. Also hand wipes.

I am a country girl that loves to go camping, 4 wheeling, fishing, and all that good stuff..

Here is what I do. When I find a spot to pee, I make sure that no one can see me. Like if I am up in the mountains, I will walk down a trail that has a curve and pee where the curve is off the road where no one can see me. I also pee like behind trees(watch out for snakes and poison ivy though! lol). A bad spot is anywhere where you can look around the corner and see someone. At dark, it really doesn't matter if you can see them a little bit because they won't be able to see you if you are far enough. Just make SURE you take a little flashlight. Those LED flashlights are the best, so you can walk in the dark! Oh, and just throw your toilet paper on the ground or over a hill or something. :) I take toilet paper with me every time! Sometimes I roll some up on my hand and stuff it in my pocket so I don't have to pull it out every time, but that is when I am drinking beer and peeing a lot. haha. I hope you have fun! Camping is awesome. :D

If you really wanna go all out, you'd leave the TP at home and just be one with nature. That being said, I hate camping more than anything else on the Earth. I am not an outdoorsy person by any stretch of the imagination, so here are some of my suggestions to keep things as sanitary as possible.

Yes, bring the TP. And if you need to, maybe bring trash bags or something to discard of the watse. That would also be a lot nicer than littering the wilderness with you peepee soaked papers. Now, when it comes to going number two, I have absolutely no idea. I have never been in such a situation.. I would assume the same rules apply. Find a very secluded spot, one you don't think people will be marching in, do your business and throw your trash into a bag and get rid of it at the end of the trip..

Good luck out there, girl.

P.S. I would avoid pulling your pants down near anything that remotely resembles poison oak, ivy, etc. That would suck.

When I went camping with some family and their friends.. my friend and I found a tree not too close to the camp ground, but not too far and this tree had a small branch sticking off of it so we used it as a toilet paper holder(lol)...

Just find a tree or bush somewhat far from the camp ground, but not super far. Just to where you can't really see anyone from that spot.
