Going on cruise in June... might have period?

I am 15 and I have tried like 4 times to use tampons. At first it wasnt something I really needed to do. But I might get it when we go on my cruise. I have to because we r goign to the the beach and to swim with sting rays and stuff. Im crying because Iv spent hours trying to look it up and nothing is working. I cant find where to put it. Dont say use a mirror, if I try I will get light headed. There is nothing i can do and Im so worried. Everybody just says the same things. I have the products I have and am not able to get anything else. Plastic applicator is what I have.


Please help.. I can ask my mom but I really dont want to
 
Feel 'down there' until you feel the hole.It might be best to get slim tampons, then put the tampon at the start of the hole and slowly push it upwards (might be best to use your finger to do this) towards your back kind've. Keep pushing it until you can no longer feel it.
Leave it on for no more than 8 hours then when it needs to come out grab the string which is dangling down and slowly pull it out
