Going on Vacation for a week this Friday and need some real easy and simple recipes for the crock pot.?
I love camping/rving! Here are some favorite crockpots that would work. Also, we always make my husband's chili and have it once with fritos, etc. and another time with chili dogs or over hamburgers. There are so many wonderful things you can cook while camping. Here are a few crockpot and more of our favorites. This is so easy, and you can't believe how tasty!Swiss Steak1 round steak2 cans stewed tomatoesEgg noodles, cooked.Sear the steak on both sides.Put in crock pot and sprinkle with a good seasoned salt.Add the two cans of tomatoes.Cook all day (8 hours or so).Serve over cooked and buttered egg noodles.Yummy!These are so easy and wonderful. You can’t believe it!BBQ RibsCountry Style RibsOnionBottled BBQ Sauce (any kind you like)Sear ribs on all sides to seal in juices. Place in crock pot. Cover with sliced onions and BBQ sauce. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Yummy!!!Serve with baked beans, cornbread…and this salad is great:Caesar Coleslaw1 pkg pre-made coleslaw1/4-1/2 cup shredded parmesean cheese1/2 pkg caesar croutons1 bottle creamy caesar dressingToss first three ingredients together. Add enough dressing to coat. It's even good the next day!This one we cut and chop before we leave home. This is so yummy!Rice and Beans and Sausage3 celery ribs, chopped1 onion, chopped4 garlic cloves, minced1 3/4 cups V8 juice (or tomato juice)2 16 oz. cans kidney beans, drained3/4 tsp dried oregano3/4 tsp. dried thyme1/2-3/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (less if you don't like spicy)1/2 tsp pepper2 lb. fully cooked smoked kielbasa cut into 1/4 inch slices.4 cups cooked riceCombine all ingredients except rice in slow cooker. Cover. Cook on low 4-6 hours. Serve over rice. Yummy!!Creamy Crockpot Chicken1 envelope dry onion soup mix2 cups sour cream1 can cream mushroom soupSalt and pepper to taste6 boneless, skinless chicken breastsCombine first 4 ingredients. Pour over chicken in crockpot. Cook on low 8 hours. Serve over noodles or rice. CROCKPOT CHICKEN AND RICE CASSEROLE 4 chicken breasts1 can cream of celery soup1 can cream of chicken soup1 can cream of mushroom soup2 stalks celery, diced1 bay leaf1 large onion, chopped1/2 teaspoon Bell's Poultry seasoning3 cloves garlic, minced1 cup Minute RiceMix the cans of soup with the rice at the bottom of the Crockpot. You may substitute the type of soup you use in any combination (for example: 2 cans cream of chicken soup and one can celery soup).Add the diced celery, onion, and garlic and stir. Submerge the chicken in the soup.Turn heat to high for 10 minutes, then reduce to medium and cook for 4-5 hours. Or cook on high for 3-4 hours.Pork Parisienne6-8 boneless pork chopsSalt and pepperPaprika1 can cream of mushroom soup1 small can sliced mushrooms1 cup sour cream½ cup waterSprinkle pork with salt, pepper, and paprika. Place in crockpot. Mix soup, water, mushrooms, and sour cream. Pour of pork chops. Sprinkle with paprika. Cover and cook low for 6-8 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.For chicken parisienne: Substitute the pork for 6 boneless, skinless chicken breastsCrockpot Corn and Sausage Chowder* 1 lb. smoked turkey sausage* 3 cups frozen hash brown potatoes with onions and pepper* 2 carrots, chopped* 15 oz. can creamed corn* 2 cups water* 10 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlicPreparation:Cook turkey sausage, then cut into chunks. Place in 3-5 quart crockpot and top with potatoes and carrots.In medium bowl, combine corn, water, and soup and mix until blended. Pour over ingredients in slow cooker. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 8-10 hours.Slow Cooker Chops1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1 teaspoon seasoning salt 4 thick cut pork chops 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed chicken with rice soup In a pie plate or shallow dish, mix flour, dry mustard, and seasoned salt. Trim fat from pork chops. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Dredge chops in flour mixture, then place them in the skillet, and brown both sides. Place in chops into a slow cooker, and pour the chicken and rice soup over them. Cover, and cook on Low about 8 hoursAlso, here's the chili recipe...to die for!Chili2 lbs ground beef2-3 large cans of crushed tomatoes1 large can of chopped green chiles3-4 cans of beans (I like red kidney and black, but pintos are goods too)6 cloves of garlic (I use more most of the time, but we really like our garlic)1 large onion chopped2 Tbs cumin (more is good too)4-6 Tbs chili powder (McCormick is good, but I use different varieties too)Brown the meat with the garlic and onion. The place the meat in the crock pot and add all of the canned items, the cumin, and the chili powder. Stir and let it get to know itself for at least three hours. I usually don't have to add any liquid as the beans and tomatoes generally have enough. However, I have been known to add beer if I need additional liquid - American lager works well for this.And his great burrito recipe, which we always make while camping...Want Mexican? This is the best burrito recipe from my wonderful hunk of a husband:Best Burritos Ever…1 lb. hamburger1 can refried beans with lime4 little cans chopped green chilis1 Tbsp. CuminSharp cheddar cheese1 pkg flour torillasSour cream (optional)Salsa (optional)Brown the hamburger. Drain the grease. Combine the beans, chilis and cumin. Cook until hot. Put 1/4 cup cheese in tortilla and microwave for 20 seconds. Fill with meat mixure and sour cream and salsa. Fold. Enjoy.Also, we love to play cards and have dip and chips. This is our favorite dip recipe:This is the best and easiest dip recipe, and people always rave! I tell them it’s really hard to make (lol):Cream Cheese Dip2 large blocks of cream cheese1 large jar Pace picante (medium)-use most of the jarSoften cream cheese and mix with hand mixer until smooth. Add picante and mix with hand mixer. Leave in frig for a few hours to blend flavors.
