I drive a Mazda 3. I used to have XM straps. It was a system with 2 pads and ropes, 1 pad at the front and one pad at the back. I'm pretty sure this is it http://surfmorexm.com/content/tie-down-straps
Great rack pads. Had two problems though. 1. When it rained on the way to the beach, water got inside the car because of these. 2. They broke when I tried to put 4 boards on my car. Yeah, I know, probably pretty stupid of me to try to fit 4 boards on top of such a small car, but it wasn't something I anticipated. The rack pads aren't completely broken but it's definitely getting pretty risky because there's a rip which makes it looser.
I'm looking at getting new rack pads or a new system or whatever. I don't plan on having 4 boards on top of my car any time soon, but it needs to hold at least 2. And my car doesn't have any type of bars already on the top so it has to be a complete system.
Any suggestions on which racks I should get next?
Thanks!
I'm sorry if I didn't describe it well enough. If you need more information, just ask.
