I'm considering upgrading my 10 gal freshwater with a 30 gal. I have a few tetras in my 10 gal, which I wouldn't mind putting in a 30, but I can always keep them in their old tank. I'm looking for a single or pair of fish, that aren't extremely high maintenance, but don't have to be as sturdy as a goldfish.
I am looking for
1. A fish that won't mind living in a 30 gal planted, tropical or cold can be arranged, lighting can too
2. Fish that's pretty lively or basically anything that doesn't feed and stay at the bottom of a tank.
3. Common fish that doesn't cost more than the tank and set up will
4. If paired, something that will not breed profusely.
5. Medium in size, something that takes up more than an inch or two of space.
I'm considering a fancy goldfish, but I'm not the biggest fan of goldfish. Love to hear other suggestions though.
