My friend and I are having a combined birthday party for our 15th birthdays since they are 2 weeks apart. I want to do something simple and she wants to have a pool party so I figured we could combine the two.

Scavenger hunts are always fun, but I don't want it to be limited to the mall. What are some ideas for a scavenger hunt that is around town? Nothing that can be found entirely at a mall. Also I saw a website saying to limit transportation to city buses to make it harder. Is that a good idea or not?

Hmm.. Well it depends on how big your city is. Limiting it to a bus is a good idea, as sometimes people don't have access to cars and that's unfair. As for me, I'd say have them pick up some of the most random things (and maybe a few items your house can use if you wanna get something out of it) like maybe a bike tire or a dead squirrel. Just kidding about the squirrel, but try to add in items that wouldn't be able to be bought at a store. It makes the game work, because if you can just buy it then there's no point, and it wastes money.

Also, I suggest that you have a lit that has items that you know can be found, such as maybe that bike tire or a bike chain off a broken bike or something, or maybe things with specific details, such as a penny with the year 1984 or your birth year or something. Concentrate on items with specifics or limited items. Just don't put down something that would require someone to steal something, like a lisence plate. Lol.

Here's a list of some things I'd put down:
~Dated coin
~Wrench of a certain size
~Newspaper clipping with a specific phrase, word, or number
~Specific (useable) item from a store that's cheap, like candy
~__ # of a certain item
~Item obtainable through a person (Have someone hold an item, then give the searchers a clue where to go find the next clue and so on until it leads to the person)
~Have them bring back a picture with you in it from their house (It MUST be from their house)

I hope this much helps, I don't know what else to suggest to you other than that.
