Good, Interesting History Projects Topics?

Here's a checklist:

-A bit controversial
-A topic that most people overlook
-A specific topic, not a broad topic
-Anything in U.S. History or World History
-Can be past or present

I really don't need it to be controversial, that's just my preference. But anything is acceptable, but something that will catch people's eye. Thanks!

The Lost Colony of Roanoke.... Virginia Dare, first child born of English parents in the New World, disappeared with 115 others between 1587 and 1590. One of the great mysteries, it's never been determined what became of them, though there are theories.....The second batch of colonists settled Jamestown ( involving Capt Smith & Pocahontas and others )
