Gossip Girl: Isn't Jenny supposed to be black?

Nope, Jenny Humprey is not supposed to be black!
She has never been black in the books, and the characters are what the author creates, so no.

I keep looking around, and finding information on the web that leads me to believe that Jenny Humphrey (and by familial association, the Humphrey clan) is of African descent in the books. But if thats so, I really would have thought that a bigger deal would have been made about the color-blind casting decision for the show.
