Gustavo Kuerten is a retired former World No. 1 tennis player from Brazil. He won the Roland Garros French Open three times between 1997 and 2001, and was the Tennis Masters Cup champion in 2000. After 12 years on the international tour, he retired from top-level tennis in May 2008. Gustavo Kuerten, also known by his nickname "Guga", has set up a charity organisation Instituto Guga Kuerten, dedicated to helping children in his home country Brazil.

Gustavo Kuerten, together with Mary Pierce (also a former Roland Garros winner), played a mixed doubles final involving the two winners of a mini-tournament for promising young tennis players, boys and girls between the ages 10-12, during the French Open at Roland Garros in June 2010. This tournament was organized by Swiss watchmaker Longines, partner of the French Open. After the match, Kuerten received a Longines Admiral watch from Longines president Walter von K?nel. Later that same day, Kuerten received the Longines Price for Elegance in recognition for his commitment to helping the most underprivileged via his charity organisation Istituto Guga Kuerten.
