I am in the UK so my suggestions may not be "interesting" in the USA but here goes

Should smoking be banned in public ?
Should abortion be banned ?
Can America claim to be the most civilised country in the world when all its policemen carry guns ?
Was it right to "execute" Osama Bin Laden ?
Is it morally right for people to obtain homework answers on answers.yahoo ?
Should the internet be censored ?
Should people, especially the old, be allowed to choose the timing and manner of their death ?
Since religion has been the cause of so many wars should it be banned ?

the best thing is to maybe see what is happening in the news, world news and discuss a topic that everyone is talking about.
or you can do a topic on celebrites, for example people claim that beyonce is not really pregnant.
you could debate that she is.
or another interesting topic could be about abortions. I know a lot of people debate and have different opinions on that
