saw this riddle and it's been in my head for a while and I dont simply understand.

there are two guards. each of them have a sack. one is full of gold and one is full of peanuts. However, one guard ALWAYS tells the truth. one gaurd will ALWAYS lie.

you have one question to ask them to find out which is the sack of gold.

whats the one question?

ANSWER:
ask one guard "what sack would the other guard tell me to take(gold).."..then u pick the opposite.!

but what if you ask the person with the gold the question? explain please :)

Aha! I answered a question similar to this yesterday!

If you asked the truth teller the question above, " What sack would the other guard tell me to take(gold)", he would point the peanuts sack because he knew that the other guard, which is the liar, would lie.

If the one you asked is the liar, he would lie and point the peanuts sack too.

Either way, they would point the peanuts sack, so take the opposite.

I don't understand your question: "but what if you ask the person with the gold the question? explain please :)" , it seems complicated because the riddle doesn't say who holds the gold sack and the peanut sack, whether the liar or truth teller.

it doesnt mean that the on who has gold WILL tell tell truth...for example....
if u ask the liar this question n he has the gold...he will tell u to take the other one so u shud take his

if the liar doesnt have the gold he will tell u to take his sack....so u take the other one....

i agree its complicated but sit n think....its not that confusing if u think of it as a role play :)
