I am, tongue-in-cheek, referring to the tale of a monkey being hung in Hartlepool during the Napoleonic wars, on suspicion of being a French spy. But I am digressing...

A French Aircraft carrier, carrying an estimated 700 tonnes of Asbestos-related goodness, is being sent here from India, because - surprise, surprise - no-one wants to handle such a poisonous mother.
Environmentall issues aside, is it a good idea to take this ship in? I mean, the argument for is the creation of a few hundred jobs - but does that outweigh the dangers? Being from Teesside, I am hearing a lot of opposition to accepting the floating behemoth to the docks.

Also, when it comes to other countries dumping their detritus on us, do you ever get the feeling the UK cannot say no?
 
britain is scared to say "no" incase it offends somebody. and i bet there are no immigrants on this job they know better than the greedy british take now think later attitude, that is why we have had all the things like b.s.e and foot and mouth

but french waste should be shipped straight back to france

how about hiding it in the back of lorries and driving it into france....just as the french allow illegal immigrants to sneak into britain.......

we get their toxic waste in the form of these scroungers who are out for an easy life at our expense ....and now we get their real toxic waste

both types of cr** should be returned asap....
