Has Andy Dalton taken over the top spot for rookie of the year from Cam Newton?

I think so, yes. Newton reached a stumbling block with his inability to deal with a spy; meanwhile, Dalton not only looks good but is winning games in Cinncinati. Newton will likely continue to mature and become a great QB, but I think Dalton is in the middle of wrapping up this award.

Dalton has a better group of receivers, and a much better defense. What Newton is doing with what he has is amazing. Dalton is just a game manager. Newton is a game changer. So no. Newton is and will be the ROY. Also Dalton has had a much easier schedule than Newton.

In my opinion, yes he has. Dalton and the Bengals were declared by many people in the preseason, "the worst team in the NFL." Cam Newton is a very good QB, but he has two Pro Bowl running backs and a star WR. The defense is decent enough to win games. Dalton has a very young supporting cast and a defense that is getting a ton of TOs.

People want to get caught up in stats saying Cam is a duel threat and can only go up. However, the way Dalton is playing and leading that team and having a chance to even win that division is remarkable. Dalton should win the Offensive Rookie of the Year just off that.
