I'm not talking about true "Conservatives", but the ones who wear the "Don't Tread On Me" shirts, have a perpetual scowl on their faces and carry signs.
I made a point through the summer to talk to as many of these people as I could, ask them questions about what they thought about various things and learned nothing.
I seemed that every time I asked a question and offered an alternative to their answer that they couldn't answer, they would change the subject.
I heard nothing but platitudes, slogans and anti-Obama rhetoric with no substance.
In fact, they don't seem to know what they are talking about.
Case in point: I asked one about Social Security and if they would be willing to raise the $100,000 cap at which you stop paying SS tax if that would keep the system going.
He just looked at me and said, "what are you talking about"? "What cap"? ect ect.
Has anyone had better luck?
