My dog gets car sick really bad. I usually dont let her eat if i know i'm taking her in the car. i stoped at teh pet store and they recamended travel calm for her. has anyone ever used this and in your opinion does it work?
its a press powder type of pill.
I cant put her in a carrer cause she freaks out really bad. And it just makes it worse. She can be in the floor of the car n not be able to see out the window and will still get sick. She has motion sickness.

My sheltie that I had would be car sick. I didn't use the travel calm, but I used Rescue Remedy. It doesn't drug them, just takes the edge off. It's actually a flower essence used by people, but can be given to a dog. I rather use natural things. She didn't throw up in the car when she was on it. I also give it when my dogs are stressed out, during thunder and lightening storms. It worked for me. There is also a Comfort Zone spray that you can spray in the car to help calm her. I use the plug in sometimes in the house.

isnt that like a pill or something? well if it is i used it on my dog and he was fine, just a little tipsy but other than that he was fine

I asked my vet about those pills, since my dog used to get carsick as a puppy. He didn't recommend them, and said that if I did decide to use them, make sure the dog starts taking them over 12 hours before the car trip. He said that the best way to keep dogs from getting carsick is to not let them see out the window, keep them in a carrier, and make frequent stops to let them out and walk around outside.

I haven;t heard of that. My vet recommended a small doze of Children's Benadril to knock out the dog during long drives, cause my dog too would get carsick. Call up your vet real quick and ask them over the phone.
