Hello, we are a young couple and are interested in the norwegian gem's cruise to the caribbean in january from new york for 10 days. Since I live in NY I know how cold it is up here and the point of a vacation is to get to the tropical weather quickly! Since I hate flying I thought a 10 day cruise out of NY over a 7 day from FL may be appealing. I'd like to know if the sea is pretty rough in the north at this time, also if it's so cold most of the trip that it may make more sense to leave from FL.
