Scandinavians trying to change the world through bribery of stupid stuff, never going to work was it. Mr Jagland of the prize committee is backtracking in the light of Chinese mussel that's seen half the developing world boycott the ceremony.

Obama getting one for sod all now, Arafat, Dalai Lama,United Nations Peacekeeping Forces,Mother Teresa,Mohamed Anwar al-Sadat, Begin,George Catlett Marshall (yes the guy who asked to fire a nuclear bomb) what a rouges gallery

seems to me the only time that lot got it right are the years they didn't pick a winner, and considering the state of the world and all the dead through the violence of war no one has ever deserved such an accolade, pompous bloody vikings ..
 
This years winner is the Chinese dissident ( I have no enemies ) Liu Xiaobo who has spent the last 25 years in a Chinese prison so I don't suppose he is laughing!
 
In surprising support of the WikiLeaks frontman Julian Assange, the Russians have today said that he should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I would sooner Julian Assange get a Nobel Peace Prize than the head of the United States Govt that's responsible for lies, cheating, backstabbing and countless MURDERS of innocent men, women and children.

It became a bad joke when they gave it to the celebrity, Obama, for doing nothing. He's their idol, they worship him. The question remains did they make an exception for his nomination as the real nominations closed long before he was elected. I don't take them seriously at all.
 
I agree with everything you just said. The prize has absolutely nothing to do with furthering the cause of peace. It's entirely political.
