have apple put a limit on the amount of pages of apps on the iphone and ipod touch?

because i have about 11 - 12 pages full of apps and when i try to download more it downloads and stuff but it does not show in the pages of apps... so have apple put a limit on?
is there any way of taking this limit off?? like jail breaking it maybe?
 
In the new software update, you can use folders. You can have over 2000 apps if you fill up all the folders.
