I mean seriously.......where do i start, its just getting silly, in hopes of scary movies coming back, i went to go see my bloody valentine.............a movie about a scary miner........................miner??? seriously?? what next an evil pizza guy who jizzes all over your toppings?? what has happened to the original i know what u did last summer the original birds, Even psycho (old version) any tales from the crypt episode was scarier that the last 3 scream movies, last 4 saw movies and anything george romero has done after Dawn of the dead (1975 and 2004).i am just devastated how the lines are blurred so much between scary movies and thrillers now but neither are scary or even thrillers anymore (resident evil 2 and 3).How do u feel??

Yeah horror movies have been really getting bad lately. I think The Descent is one of the best horror movies of the past couple of years.

In my opinion, these are the worst horror movies that have come out in the past couple of years. Haha, someone needs to put a stop to it.

Wrong Turn
Captivity
The Haunting of Molly Hartley
The Happening
Hostel Part II
When A Stranger Calls
One Missed Call
The Ruins
The Grudge II
Dark Water
Prom Night
Final Destination 3
Mirrors
Saw 2, 3, 4, and 5. The first Saw was actually pretty good.

As long as you stick with Hollywood-style, PG-13 rated crap, that's all you'll get. If you only go to a multiplex in the mall and don't do any searching at your local video store, what else would you expect to find? The good horror films are out there...YOU have to find THEM. They won't just come to you...

This year was pretty bad for mainstream horror films. Some of the best movies made by studios didn't even get a wide release. Midnight Meat Train for example was great, but didn't even get a wide release. Some of the best films I've seen this year only got limited releases or went direct to video. Repo: The Generic Opera was great, Let the Right One In was out of this world. Splinter was good, but it was like John Carpenters The Thing. Trick R' Treat which I have yet to see only got a showing here and there and everyone who saw it said it was one of the best horror films they have seen in a long time, and it's only going to get a DVD release later this year. I mean I think the only horror movie I saw in mainstream theaters that I actually liked this year was The Strangers. And that's not saying much. Hopefully this year will be better.
