have you ever felt horrible/guilty about a pet dying?

like last year i lost my russian dwarf hamster, i believe he had a heart attack. he was 3.5 years old when he died, but he was very active. and i just remember i was in the back room and i heard him squeaking, i didnt think anything of it because its what he used to do and their was never anything wrong so i ignored him. so i went to bed and found him the next morning hanging outside of his house with some bedding wrapped around his leg. so im guessing he panicked because he couldnt get free and had a heart attack. im pretty sure if i had went over to the cage and got his leg untangled he would have lived for a few more months.
