Has there ever been an athlete that caught your attention so much, that you started to watch their sport just to see them?
If so-
Who was it? What sport? What was the hype about them at the time, or what about them caught your attention? And do you still follow that sport/athlete/team today? Have you taken up the game personally?
For me it was Tiger Woods years ago. I never played golf, other than a few rounds of mini golf. I just heard everybody talking about how good this guy was. So, I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I couldn't sit there and watch golf long term, but I watched while doing a few chores. No, I don't really follow it any more, and I still have never played a round.
I also started watching NASCAR shortly after Dale Sr. died. Even though I never followed Nascar, I was knew the name. I watched for a few years. I still watch once in a while, but not on a regular basis.
