I used my UK Maestro this week to rent a 'Velib' bicycle in Paris, France. I bought a single day ticket at the machine, which costs one Euro, but warns that €150 will be debited if the bike itself is not returned. I used the bike, returned it in the correct manner and ensured that its return was registered with the system at the little service point.
Now that I'm home, and have checked my account, I've discovered that around €150 is missing ('unavailable') from my UK bank balance. Does anyone know how long it takes for the money to go back in? How long should I wait before I start worrying? Has anyone had problems using their card with the Velib service?
