Having issues with my DivX player playnig a burned movie!?

I am trying to burn a movie, I burned it onto a dvd and im trying to play it in my DivX player... its not playing. It doesnt give me any error msg or anything, it just goes back to the main menu.
This is what the file is called
Comedy.Central.Roast.of.Pamela.Anderson.DVDRip.XviD-marioBombo
so maybe its something to do with the file extension or whatever, im not good at this sort of thing lol
Can someone tell me how to get this to play? I can re-burn it if I need to

it's obvious it does not recognize it at all i would try wmp and see what happens or download it from the disc media so you can play with the files to see what bill has to say about it good luck...
