I'm looking to upgrade my TV to a TV with a built in DVD player and I've been looking at Toshiba. They have HD TV DVD combo that has caught my eye. I would like to get this, but is it going to play blue ray disks?

I'm not exactly a teck geek but I would like to play blueray disks on a TV DVD combo so I don't have to lunge around a TV and DVD separetly. Any suggestions? I'm looking for something at least 15" or bigger with a budgest of $900 or under.

no. blue ray and HD DVD were competing technologies that did the same thing. HD DVD just bit the dust so they wont sell anymore discs in that format so your HDDVD player that is inyour TV will be useless.

If the DVD is just a regular DVD than it also wont play blueray HD dics. ONly a sony Blueray player will play Blueray HD Discs. also DVD players break very frequently so dont buy a combo. Very bad idea.

Unfortunately, you probably won't find a HDTV/Blu-Ray combo for your price range. This is actually a good thing - combos can be a pain in the neck.

I'd recommend shopping for the most bang for your buck HDTV first. Save up a while longer and buy a Blu-Ray/PS3 separately. Good luck!
