...Malthouse the opportunity to coac? ............ coach Collingwood next season should they win the 2011 premiership ? Is this fair on " Bucks " ( fig-jam ) having to make a decision like this ?
...........Should this situation eventuate ?

This Question was raised by Big Kev at the start of this season,& for good reason.

The Pies are the team to beat this season for the flag. no ifs no buts.

Eddie McGuire has made the situation plain & simple. Bucks will take over at seasons end.

What i don't get at the moment is that he seems to be softening his view on this. which could spell danger for the club. because it a nut shell. what he is trying to say is. that Micks contract is not a legal binding one. so even if Mick does take a year off. there is nothing to stop any other club from poaching him during next season.

Fun times ahead for the Collingwood F.C. as their president tries very hard to extinguish these spot fires. that keep breaking out over the Collingwood's successor coach program.

Its a bloody nightmare if you ask me?
cheers.

The "spot-fires" are all of the media's creation - not Collingwoods. I'm so sick of everyone doubting this handover. Maybe if Mick and the players thought he was still there for ages they he (and they) may not have put quite the same energies into last season and this one. Sometimes having a definate "end-point" gives real direction to a person. If anyone had told me when this was negotiated that we would be in agonies over whether Mick should go after one (and possibly two) flags, then I consider the deal a winner already. As far as taking over - who was responsible for last years forward line play - Bucks, and he's obviously done a good job on the opposition this year. I for one thank Mick from the bottom of my heart for what he has done, and now it's time for Bucks to have his go - he's waited patiently, and I'm sure is smart enough to know that if he keeps Mick's "smarts" on tap that the club could go even further....
