...I bought a Suzuki GS500F new and have put ~150 miles on it. Earlier I called Suzuki for general info and the rep told me to regularly check the oil level as that bike burns oil (which was echoed on several websites).
This past weekend I read the oil level as low and added ~.5 - 1C of new oil. Before riding it the dipstick indicated the oil level was right on the "full" line. I took it out for a ride and the bike kept on dying. It kept stalling out and got progressively harder to start (even as I opened the choke, waited a few minutes etc.). I was able to get it home -but only by riding with the choke part way open.
I thought it must be too much oil so I took ~ 1C out, but now the bike won't start. It turns over, but doesn't start (I've tried with choke open, closed and everywhere in between).
I'm new to riding and this doesn't make sense to me. Your help is appreciated. Thanks!
