HELP!! Does the iPad raise your Internet bill?

Help I'm been accused of my iPad making the internet bill rise. I have had my ipad for 3 months and the Internet bill has gone from £50-75-100 a month.
I connected to someone elses internet, and apparently there bill has gone up £45.. Help is this my iPad ??
