I'm 20yrs old and I recently got my first house rabbit and I'm having trouble littering training him

I'd like him to use his cage as a toilet but instead he prefers shitting on my sofa.
Each time he has pood on the sofa I tell him off in a strong voice with "no" then put him and the poo inside his cage so he assosiates pooing with his cage.
I've been doing this on average 4 times a day, everyday for over a month now and its still no better - he still poos on my sofa.
I've recently been trying to stop him even getting on the sofa by using smell-repellant rabbit spray but then he poos on the floor or fireplace instead
I've also bought a litter tray and put that next to the sofa and each time he poos i've put him and his poo in the tray but still he'd rather go elsewhere in the house,

Does anyone know any other method for litter training, or useful tips for me?
I refuse to believe I have a bad rabbit, I know I must be doing something wrong so any help would be really appreciated, thanks!

Rabbits do not respond to discipline when it comes to pooping. You are always going to find stray poops about! They do between 200-300 poops a day, if they were all going to be in one place they'd have to spend all day there!

Concentrate on litter training for pee. At least you can just sweep up the poops, but the pee is more difficult when it comes to cleaning!! They do like to eat and toilet, so encourage him to put the concentration of these things in his cage by putting a big pile of hay there.

Is he neutered? Once neutered he won't use pee and poops for scent marking.

Rabbits tend to train you rather than the other way round. If you notice him preferring certain corners (obviously not the sofa) put a tray there. It will take time. Mine still put stray poops about, but will come running across the garden to do a pee in their tray!
