Help me pick a character to cosplay?

I am a short girl with brown hair and blue eyes, petite but somewhat athletic build and I want to cosplay as a well known character for a convention. I'm willing to either make a mascot costume or hire someone to sew something for me but I want it to be a character with very distinct clothing/style. I also own a renaissance faire peasant costume, a dinosaur kigurumi (I was thinking of making a mascot head for it...maybe a bowser costume?), I also have a gold leotard because on halloween I was Jake the dog from adventure time. Anyway - please suggest some stuff for me! Thank you!
