HELP ME PLEASE! writers block, or something opf the sort!?

okay So the thing is I have actually finished my story, its just time to write it up on the computer - which i WAS enjoying.
The thing is I posted a little bit of it up here and people said it remided them of HP (I can now see small similarities)

anyway it has made me want to stop writing!!! help!!
 
Hi there,

If you are seeing similarities in your story to something you have read before, you will need to find a way to change those similarities or to scrap the entire project (I know, it's hard).

I know from experience. I started writing a fantasy story several years ago. After writing about three chapters I realized I had re-wrote the Hobbit, lol. Or, at least I had re-wrote it in a sense; the two were just too similar!

If there are just a few similarities, look at what they are and see how you can change them. We are easily influenced as writers by those authors we enjoy reading; and this is can be both a blessing and a curse, depending on much we end up borrowing from them.

haha i had the same exact problem. hp is just that amazing.
try to change little details around. for example, add a few characters here and there, change some personalities of main characters that may be too much like HP characters, and elaborate on the plot so it becomes more unique.
