Help me with burning movies to dvd rom?

I downloaded convertxdvd and converted my movie, then i burned it to a "maxell, dvd-r 120minute/4.7gb video data" but when i put it in my dvd/blu ray player, it says it isn't compatable and that it cannot perform this operation.

WHY?
 
first u need to burn the disk to be compatible so it needed to be burned as a dvd-video palyer.

use nero its the best burner and have alot of options u will love it and most of all u dont need to do converting nero will do every thing with just simple click
