I have a 1989 chevy K1500 that I put a new motor in it. The motor is bored .030 over and has a mild cam in it. I always have to give it gas to make it stay running and it has no power going down the road. We have checked the timing and for vaccum leaks, and there is nothing wrong with them two things. The throttle body and the distributor are both from the original motor. The motor is a 72 block and we have a plate that bolts on top of the intake so the throttle body will bolt up to it. It has all new plugs, plug wires, and distributor cap. Could the fuel pressure regulator inside of the throttle body be bad? Could something else on the throttle body or distributor be bad and be causing this? What else should I check? I've been thinking about putting a carb on it. I know you would have to hook up a fuel pressure regulator. Would you have to have anything else to hook the carb up? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
we don't have to worry about emission specs here in kansas (lol)
