Help! My BitTorrent upload speed higher than my download speed!?

This is absolutely ridiculous. I don't mind uploading for other people, but at this rate, my download will take forever. I'd rather download quickly now (with a low upload speed) and then seed for people later on.

How can I set my upload speed to always be lower than my download speed? Is there a way?
 
If you use utorrent right click on your torrent > Bandwidth Allocation > Set Upload Limit and choose.
 
Utorrent is an excellent program for this, http://www.utorrent.com/, it allows you to limit you upload speed, and from experiments I've done when my upload is limited (try no to limit it to low or its not fair to others) it allows the download to use more bandwidth.
