There are some really poor answers here. AV2009 has been around for some time, also known as xpantivirus, antivirus2008 and many more names, there is also antivirus 2010 circulating now.
They are all ROGUE programs that install malware, NOT viruses which is why antivirus programs do not remove them although they may find reference to them they reappear upon reboot.
No matter what browser you use, users are still prone to this malware and for the scammers behind it it;s a very lucrative business, one report a few days ago showed that one of the scammers pocketed over $150,000 in one week......good money for infecting other users machines.
Use Firefox for browsing, keep IE for updates, and clear the malware from your machine with Norman Malware Cleaner, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware as has already been stated.
It is necessary to use more than one program, a layered approach is necessary and for best results, after downloading the above mentioned programs use CCleaner to clear your cache:

Click on the Cleaner Tab on the left and under Windows tick all boxes in Internet Explorer. If you save your username/passwords untick 'Autocomplete Form History' and under System tick all boxes except the last 2, and leave Advanced all unticked.
Then click on the Applications tab and tick all apart from Saved form information if you use Firefox and save your username/passwords
Click on Options then Settings and under Secure Deletion mark the Secure file deletion (slower) and use the drop down to select Guttman (35 passes)
Please note that some files are 'locked' but will be removed on shutdown.
Then reboot into Safe Mode to perform the scans and remove the maware infection.
