help why isnt my blu ray player filling up my widescreen hdtv up?

I have 3 blu ray movies - MI3,Blood Diamond,Never Back Down, and in the back they all say that they are in 16:9 widescreen, well my tv is an hdtv widescreen and its on 16:9 with an hdmi cable connected to my ps3, so why isnt it fillin up the screen when the movie is in 16:9 and so is my hdtv?
 
because widescreen shows all of the movie and fullscreen which on other movies cuts off parts of the movie, widescreen shows black lineing on the top and bottom fullscreen doesn't even though you change the size of your HDTV resolution
