Hello, good afternoon Yahoo! Answers.
I have a question, a rather serious and important question.
I have a 12 year old 800 watt home stereo system, it still has a Record Player and weird old stuff like that, But anyway, I have two 60 watt speakers already on there. (Dont ask why i have 60 watt speakers on a 800 watt system). So anyway, I am wondering if I can simply hook up a 1 or 3 volt RELAY so I can have blinking christmas lights to the bass beat, I have hooked up a 1.5v LED Ultra-Bright white light and it was blinking for each and every beat over or below 50hz or whatever, I suppose it is possible, And I know it is, It wouldnt use much energy from the speaker(s) would it? I want to simply use a low voltage that comes from the output of the stereo which is about 24 volts max I think, I want to use a 1-24 volt Relay that activates for every bass beat and turn on a long strip of Christmas Lights or just a house light. I just need to know if it is possible, Even though I know it is, I want to know how much energy, if any, is being drained from my stereo, I would doubt that much wattage is being drained, maybe 1 milli-watt or something like that to activate the coil in the relay.
I apologize for going into much detail about my problem. I am hoping one you helpful Yahoo! People could help with this problem.. Thank you for clicking on and reading this insanely long question/concern.
God Bless.
