I have a 1991 Jetta, and it only has two 4" speakers in the front on the bottom of the doors, and two 5 1/2 speakers ( i think ) in the rear deck. I just bought two 12" kicker 2 ohm cvr's with a 1000 watt amp (1 x 750 @ 2 ohms). So how am I going to be able to add mids/highs to the bass when I have so little options for my speakers? Is it possible to add new spots for different speakers (I've heard of component speakers) and if so what should I get (in detail if possible) and where should I put them? I've heard you want more of the mids and highs coming from the front than you do in the rear. I've also heard you want tweeters at ear-level. But I'm not sure how I could make that work with only two speakers on the doors. Thanks guys

You're right about the tweeter placement... The high frequency sounds do not bounce as well as lower freq, so they need to be 'aimed' at you. On the mid-hi ranges, first I'd look at better rear deck speakers. You might be able to find 2 way or 3 way speakers that will fit. A two way speaker actually has two separate speakers mounted together in one package with one set on connections, etc for a 3 way. The lower door speakers would work for low & mid range, so maybe a 2 way for there, also. Check .. CrutchField.com .. They have a list of factory speaker sizes & recommended upgrades.
