I have a 15 year old registered paint. That I barrel race with. He is really really good at it. All his turns are nice and tight. But on the way home he doesn't like to stop. Right now I am using a tom thumb. He listens well to it turning wise but not so much with stopping. Some one recommended the wonder bit. I have yet to try it on him. Some one also said to use a gag bit. The one that has the Hackamore and bit combo. It is quite common in barrel racing but I don't know if I want to use it yet. I guess I would if I had to,granted he likes it.
I really want something that will help stop him and comfortable for him.
