Help with my plot please:)?

So, in the far north live these sort of inuit/barbarian tribes. When they come of age at 15, they ritually go out into the wilderness and sleep the night by themselves, they dream about an animal, the next day they meet their 'Spirit animal'. They then have to kill it with their villages sacred dagger which they believe holds the spirits of their ancestor and leads them to they’re animal. They skin it, and after that, they can use the skin to turn into that animal themselves.

A girl and a boy, born on the same day from different villages, go out in the woods separately from each other to find their spirit animal. They both dream of another human that they do not know. The next day they meet each other in the woods. Then i thought they should go to a shaman and it tells them in a riddle that they have to band together for some reason...like the daggers were stolen or something. Or, i was thinking that its like a fate thing, and the ancestor spirits chose them and they are supposed to kill each other with each dagger for some reason and then they have to figure out a way not to have to kill each other??? Ugh but neither are very good, so i'm totally stuck.

I don't want to abandon though, cause i have a whole culture, setting and characters planned out...just not really a plot.
