Help with rolling back on hills in manual transmission?

Hi everyone, a few weeks ago I bought my first manual car and in those weeks, I have become pretty competent driving the car from point a to point b. However, the one problem I have with the car is starting on hills, I can't seem to do it without rolling backwards and I usually end up panicking and overcompensating by giving the car more gas and burning out, which isn't good.

I have heard several tips (e-brake, heel-toe, feather the clutch) but what is the best and easiest method for a beginner?

Thanks for the help

The e brake is the best way. Once you become comfortable with clutch/gas levels it will become easier for you. Also practice on your drive way. Let it roll back and try to keep yourself/car right on mid slope. This will give you confidence when your out on the roads.
