my intro and conclusion sounds like absolute rubbish...please help me!!
INTRO
In early childhood education settings, all children should be given the opportunity to develop knowledge and an understanding of the cultural heritage of both partners to Te Tiriti o W?itangi. The curriculum (Te Wh?riki) reflects this partnership in text and structure (Ministry of Education 1996, p.9. There are many aspects that effected M?ori life through the process of colonisation and assimilation; however this essay will be focusing on a select few of the main influences from the period of the middle 1800’s till the early 1900’s.This essay will first look at the effects that colonisation and assimilation had on M?ori life. Next the writer will examine the impacts that different social and educational policies had on M?ori during the period of the 1850’s till the early 1900’s. This will allow the examination of the progress that A?tearoa has made from that time till now. This essay will then discuss Te Wh?riki in relation to Te Tiriti o W?itangi and how the curriculum implements and validates its standing. Next this essay will look at different M?ori perspectives and strategies that can be used within early childhood to validate and affirm M?ori and their beliefs.
CONCLUSION
Many challenges have been faced since the colonisation of A?tearoa which has led to today and many of these struggles have been amended. However some problems still exist today. With the collaboration and involvement of all New Zealanders these obstacles will diminish. This essay has looked at the effects of colonisation and assimilation on M?ori. This essay has also introduced the reader to the different struggles that occured from the different educational and social policies of the 1800’s. Te Wh?riki’s validation of Te Tiriti was also discussed and examined and strategies for improving and including M?ori perspectives in E.C.E were explored.
haha thanks that was actually good constructive critisism..i have no idea how to write an essay...shouldve listened at highschool. i am at university now and have NO idea how to write these things!!!! ahh
