Hey, did you know that there was something called the "Viking Classic" this weekend? It's true! I didn't believe it either, but we have video proof that someone named "Chris Kirk" won this thing on Sunday in his rookie season. Weird, huh?

All right, enough dumping on the Viking, a good tournament that had the unfortunate distinction of setting up against the British Open. Most of your familiar names were across the pond, but Tom Pernice very nearly became the first over-50 golfer since Fred Funk in 2007 to win on Tour.

Congrats to Kirk on his debut Tour win. But I think even the Viking folks would understand if he had to be playing elsewhere during his title defense next year.
